Terms of Use
These terms set out the rules to follow when using Petit Stay. They apply to both parents and sitters. We are not accepting real care requests or payments yet. If this translation differs from the Korean original, the Korean original prevails.

- We are not accepting real care requests or payments yet. Please send questions to hello@petit-stay.com.
Petit Stay's role
Petit Stay is an online commerce intermediary that helps families visiting Seoul and independently working sitters exchange requests directly online.
Parents read the published profiles and choose the sitter themselves. Sitters review each request they receive and accept or decline it themselves. Petit Stay does not choose or decide for them.
Petit Stay does not employ sitters and does not provide care itself. The parties to the care contract are the parent and the sitter. Petit Stay is not a party to that contract.
However, as an online intermediary, Petit Stay meets the obligations set by applicable law. We make clear that we are not a party to the transaction, and if a dispute arises, we help check the facts and handle it.
Creating an account or completing the updates sign-up does not by itself submit a care request or confirm care. Business details can be found at the bottom of the screen.
Member types and obligations
Members are divided into parent members and sitter members. Choose one when signing up and use the screens appropriate to that role.
Parent members must accurately enter information essential to childcare, such as the date and time, the name the child goes by and the child's age in completed years, within the scope explained on the request screen. Please enter information about children and other people only to the extent that you have the lawful authority and procedures required to process and provide that information. Making a request through a parent account does not, by itself, verify authority as the child's legal representative or consent to provide a 3rd party's emergency contact details. Before making a request, check that your accommodation's rules allow the sitter to visit and enter the room, and remain reachable during childcare.
Sitter members must accurately describe themselves and their experience, languages spoken, hourly rate and availability. Please diligently provide childcare you have accepted within the agreed time and scope. Use information about families and children learned during childcare only for the permitted childcare purposes and within the permitted scope, and do not provide it elsewhere without a legal basis or the necessary consent. Processing necessary for emergency measures to protect a child's safety, lawful reporting or the exercise of rights must be limited to the minimum necessary under applicable laws.
All members must respect one another and comply with applicable laws and these Terms. Do not request or send resident registration numbers, copies of identity documents or health information unnecessary for childcare at your own discretion. Sensitive information, including health information, is processed only to the extent necessary where a separately explained lawful processing procedure is in place.
Accounts and sitter eligibility
Enter accurate information when you create an account. You are responsible for your own password and sign-in method. You may not lend or transfer your account to anyone else.
People under age 14 cannot sign up as members.
To work as a sitter, you must be at least 19 years old. Sitters confirm for themselves that they meet this requirement when they submit a profile. This confirmation alone does not mean that Petit Stay has checked their identity or qualifications.
Sitters are not Petit Stay employees. They work independently: they set their own available times and hourly rates, and decide for themselves whether to take a request.
Requests, acceptance and schedule changes
After choosing a sitter, the parent sends that sitter a request with the date, time and details needed for care. Sending a request does not by itself confirm care.
Care is confirmed when the sitter reviews and accepts the request. From then on, the sitter can see the child details and emergency contact needed for that care. If the sitter declines or does not accept, care is not confirmed.
To change the date or time of confirmed care, one side proposes the change and the other side must confirm it. Until both sides have confirmed, the original schedule stays in place.
We are not accepting real care requests yet. When we start accepting requests, we will first explain the process and service limits on screen.
Care dates and times are displayed and processed in Seoul time (Korea Standard Time, UTC+9). Changing your device time zone or display language does not change the time basis of a confirmed care schedule.
Cancelling a request
Parents may cancel a request before the sitter accepts it. If you need to cancel confirmed childcare, please notify the other party as soon as possible. Sitters must also notify parents promptly if circumstances arise.
We are not currently accepting paid childcare requests and have not finalized cancellation fees or refund percentages. Before accepting paid requests, we will explain how to cancel, the rules for each cancellation time, how cancellations, failure to provide care and no-shows without notice by parents or sitters will be handled, and the amount, method and timing of refunds. We will explain these before the contract is made, regardless of whether an online payment feature is provided.
Users' rights to withdraw from an order, cancel a contract and receive a refund under applicable laws will not be unfairly restricted by a separate agreement. Whether statutory withdrawal is available for a particular transaction depends on the status of the parties, the service provided and applicable laws.
No-shows without notice or repeated last-minute cancellations may be grounds for restricting use after the facts and reasons have been checked. Stopping care for safety reasons or declining requests outside the agreed scope will be assessed with those reasons distinguished, and restrictions on use will follow the procedures in Section 11.
Prices and payments
Sitters set their own hourly rates, which are displayed on their public profiles and the request screen. Changing confirmed transaction conditions requires the parties' agreement and the procedures required by applicable laws.
We do not currently offer actual childcare requests or online payments, and do not collect card information.
Before accepting paid childcare requests, we will explain the childcare charge, whether Petit Stay charges a service fee and who pays it, the total amount including taxes and other additional charges, the payment recipient, payment timing and method, and cancellation and refund conditions. Users will be able to review those conditions before entering into a contract, regardless of whether an online payment feature is provided.
Care locations and service limits
Childcare takes place in the accommodation rooms where international families are staying within Seoul. This includes hotels, serviced residences, short-term rentals such as Airbnb, hanok accommodation, guesthouses, motels, holiday cottages and pool villas.
Before making a request, parents must check that the accommodation's rules allow the sitter to visit and enter the room.
The request feature currently being prepared offers options between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., for children aged 3–8, with a maximum of 2 children and, for 1 session, a duration of 3–5 hours. These are the current product's selectable options and do not mean that actual requests are being accepted. We will also explain the necessary conditions and procedures in advance when changing that scope.
We do not offer overnight care, transport by vehicle, pickups or drop-offs, administration of medication or medical procedures, swimming pool or beach use, bathing, or extended outdoor activities. Swimming pool use is outside the scope of childcare even in pool villa rooms.
We also do not offer photography of children's faces, continuous location tracking (GPS) or live video streaming. Sitters may decline requests outside the service scope, and Petit Stay may also restrict them to the extent necessary. If childcare needs to stop for safety reasons, contact the other party immediately to the extent possible; if emergency rescue or lawful reporting is needed, seek assistance from the relevant authorities.
Childcare location information, such as the accommodation name, address and room, is information that parents enter themselves during the request process. This is distinct from features that automatically determine a device's current location or track its movements. The scope of disclosure before and after acceptance and the retention periods are governed by the Privacy Policy. Before introducing any new location-detection feature, we will provide the necessary notices, obtain consent and complete the procedures required by applicable laws.
Prohibited conduct
Members must not do any of the following.
- Using another person's information or account, or posting false information
- Harassing, discriminating against or threatening other members
- Doing anything that could harm a child's health or privacy, or asking for care outside the service limits
- Collecting personal information, or sharing it with others, without the other person's consent
- Posting advertising or promotional content
- Disrupting the service, or taking information by automated means without permission
- Violating the law or these terms
Reviews
Only parents who have actually used childcare can leave a review. One review can be written for each completed childcare booking.
Please describe your experience truthfully. Authors can edit their own reviews. Requests for correction, deletion or concerns about an infringement of rights can be sent to hello@petit-stay.com. The sitter concerned can also request a review of comments about them.
Please do not include another person's personal information or contact details, abusive, derogatory or discriminatory language, false statements, advertising or content unrelated to the childcare.
A public sitter profile shows review text, the date written and the review count where the relationship to the completed childcare and its author is confirmed. Up to 3 reviews are shown, newest first.
Average ratings, individual ratings and selected tags are not public, and sitters are not sorted by ratings or review count. Authors can view their own ratings and tags; the sitter concerned can view reviews about them and their average rating in their own dashboard.
We do not hide or delete a review simply because its rating is low or its content is unfavorable to the service or sitter. If action on a review is necessary, the author must be informed of the reason and given an opportunity to comment. Rights to notice and to object under applicable law are not limited.
Petit Stay does not pay for reviews or change their order in return for payment.
Restrictions and account closure
Members can ask to close their account at any time through the support screen in their account or at hello@petit-stay.com. If there is care in progress, we settle it first and then process the request.
Petit Stay may give a warning, limit features, hide a profile, or suspend or close an account in cases such as the following.
- Engaging in prohibited conduct or posting false information
- Harming the rights of other members or children
- Violating the law, or receiving a lawful request from an investigative authority or similar body
Before restricting an account, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond. However, if urgent action is needed to prevent harm to a child or another member, we restrict first and notify you right away.
If you disagree with a restriction, let us know at hello@petit-stay.com. We will look at it again and tell you the result.
Responsibility and dispute handling
Responsibility for childcare itself is determined between the sitter who provided it and the parent who requested it, according to applicable laws and their respective roles. Petit Stay fulfills its statutory obligations and bears statutory liability as an online commerce intermediary. If a member suffers damage through Petit Stay's intentional act or negligence, Petit Stay is liable in accordance with law. The explanation that Petit Stay is not a party to the childcare contract does not exclude Petit Stay's own obligations or liabilities.
The insurance contract and coverage to apply to the service have not yet been finalized. Public profiles and sitters' self-confirmation that they are aged 19 or older do not constitute criminal record checks, verification of experience or qualifications, or a guarantee of safety. Legally required verification and provision of identity information are distinct from such additional checks. Please confirm anything necessary directly with the sitter before making a request. This notice does not shift Petit Stay's legally required verification or information-provision duties to users or exempt Petit Stay from liability for damages.
Please report problems or disputes to hello@petit-stay.com or 070-8985-9477. After checking the facts and records, we will provide a progress update within 3 business days of receipt and the findings or proposed handling plan within 10 business days. If further investigation is needed, we will explain why and when we plan to provide the next update. These periods do not guarantee the final resolution of every dispute.
If a dispute remains unresolved, you may seek advice from the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center. Depending on the matter and eligibility requirements, you may apply for redress through the Korea Consumer Agency or use procedures of relevant bodies, such as mediation by the Consumer Dispute Settlement Commission. This information does not restrict users from exercising their rights through courts or relevant authorities.
Social sign-in and account linking
You can sign up or sign in with Google or Kakao. Petit Stay does not receive your social-account password.
If your social account has a verified email address and a Petit Stay account already uses that address, the authentication service may link the sign-in to the existing account when its linking requirements are met. A matching email does not mean a separate account is created or that all accounts are merged.
On your first social sign-in, you must choose a member type and accept the required terms before using member features.
When connect and disconnect controls are available under your account’s sign-in methods, you can connect another Google or Kakao account or disconnect one while signed in. We may ask you to sign in again to protect your account. We do not offer disconnection that removes your last sign-in method or leaves the account without an email address. If disconnection may change your account email, we explain this before you proceed.
Disconnecting a provider, signing out of this browser, signing out of all devices and closing your account are separate actions. Disconnecting in Petit Stay does not delete your entire account or all saved service information. You can also manage the social service’s own app-access permissions in its settings. If an action is unavailable or you need help, contact hello@petit-stay.com.
Help and inquiries
Help lets you find published information about the service. Reading or searching Help does not submit a care request or send an inquiry to staff. Opening urgent-help guidance does not automatically contact emergency services or place a call. To make an inquiry or contact someone, use the corresponding option shown on screen.
Changes to these terms
When we change these Terms, we explain the reasons, main changes, when they apply and how to compare the previous and revised provisions through the service. For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, we notify you individually before they apply and complete any consent or other procedures required by applicable law or contract.
Changes requiring consent by law will apply after the necessary consent has been obtained. A notice at the next login alone does not replace advance announcements, notifications or consent that are required. A lack of response alone is not treated as legally required consent.
If you do not agree to the changed Terms, you may stop using the service or request account closure. Rights and obligations under contracts already formed are governed by those contracts and applicable laws.
These Terms apply to new service-use contracts entered into from the announced effective date. When applying amended Terms to service relationships formed before that date, we follow the announcement, notification and necessary consent procedures under the existing terms and applicable laws.
This revision does not retroactively create new consent or exemptions from liability for past contracts or personal information processing. You may request confirmation of the original text and actual period of application of earlier terms at hello@petit-stay.com.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and use of the service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. However, this does not exclude mandatory consumer protections applicable to users under the Act on Private International Law and other relevant laws.
If litigation is necessary, proceedings may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act, the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. and other relevant laws, including the Act on Private International Law. These Terms do not unfairly restrict consumers' jurisdictional rights recognized by law.
